Jeffrey Agrell was horn professor at The University of Iowa School of Music 2000-2021 after a first career as professional symphony musician. He has won awards as both a composer and writer, with dozens of published compositions, recorded, and performed around the world, plus nine books on nonjazz improvisation, including Improvisation Games for Classical Musicians Vol. I (2008) & Vol. II (2016). His most recent books are Horn Technique and The Creative Hornist. In retirement, beside finishing several books on horn, he is enjoying jazz guitar, golf, calligraphy, fishing, biking, and card tricks.
