Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Kerry Turner is recognized as one of the leading performers and composers in the international brass arena. His opus of compositions reaches well over 80 works, the majority of which have been commissioned by world-class music organizations. His music has been recorded and performed by members of the Chicago Symphony, the Berlin Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and the American Horn Quartet, with whom Mr. Turner was a member for thirty years. His horn playing career was launched into international recognition after his winning the Bronze Medal at the Prague Spring International Horn Competition in 1987, and has since has included many solo appearances, chamber music and symphony orchestra performances. Kerry Turner has been a guest lecturer in horn and composition at leading music conservatories around the world, including the Julliard School, the Manhattan School of Music and the Music Conservatories in Zurich, Oslo, Rotterdam, Hong Kong, Beijing, Sydney, Bangkok, Seoul, Singapore and Prague. Although the majority of his works are published by Phoenix Music Publications, he has works available through other publishers which are listed on this website. Mr. Turner resides in Luxembourg in Europe.
