The Symphony of Carols has 3 movements.

Movement 1 is a medley of Deck the Halls, Away in a Manger, Angels from the Realms of Glory, Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella, and What Child is This.

Movement 2 is a juxtaposition of Coventry Carol and In the Deep Midwinter. In this movement, one quartet is onstage and one in the distance backstage.

Movement 3 begins with an Alphorn call and then launches into a brilliant rendition of Adeste Fideles, which includes a fugue and a majestic, Brucknerian-style finish.
